2. Manuscript Preparation
General Formatting
- File format: Microsoft Word (.docx). PDF may be submitted for initial submission only.
- Font: Times New Roman 12pt, double-spaced, 2.5 cm margins on all sides.
- All pages numbered consecutively; line numbers enabled.
- Title page separate from the main manuscript (for blinding purposes).
- SI units to be used throughout. Drug names should be in their generic form.
Title Page (separate file)
- Full title of the article
- Running head (max. 60 characters including spaces)
- Full names of all authors (first name, middle initial, last name)
- Institutional affiliations for each author
- Corresponding author name, address, email, telephone
- ORCID IDs for all authors (if available)
- Word count, number of figures and tables
- Conflict of interest statement
- Funding sources
- Author contributions (CRediT taxonomy)
Structured Abstract (Original Research)
Structured under: Background/Objective | Methods | Results | Conclusion
Followed by 5–8 Keywords (use MeSH terms where applicable).
Manuscript Structure
Original research articles should follow the IMRaD format:
- Introduction — Background, rationale, objectives
- Methods — Study design, participants, interventions, outcomes, statistical analysis, ethical approval
- Results — Presented in logical sequence; no duplication between text and tables
- Discussion — Key findings, comparison with literature, limitations, future directions
- Conclusion — Brief, reflect study objectives
- Acknowledgements (if any)
- References
- Tables and Figures — each on a separate page with legends
3. References
MIMDCJ uses the Vancouver reference style. References are numbered consecutively in the order they appear in the text, using superscript numbers. References in tables, figures, and legends should be numbered in sequence with references in the text.

4. Submission
All manuscripts must be submitted online through the MIMDCJ submission portal. Email submissions are not accepted.
- Create an account or log in to the submission portal
- Upload the blinded manuscript file (no author information)
- Upload the title page as a separate file
- Upload figures as separate high-resolution files (min. 300 DPI, TIFF or EPS)
- Provide a cover letter stating the article type and why the manuscript is suitable for MIMDCJ
- Suggest 3–5 potential reviewers (optional)
5. Peer Review Process

Editor-in-Chief performs initial screening (1–3 days)

Sent to 2–3 independent reviewers (3–6 weeks)

Decision
Editorial decision communicated to corresponding author

Authors revise and resubmit with a point-by-point response

Accepted manuscripts proceed to copyediting and online publication
6. Ethics & Disclosure Requirements
- Ethical approval: Studies involving human subjects must include IRB/ethics committee approval number. Clinical trials must be registered in an approved registry.
- Informed consent: Required for all studies involving human subjects. Patient consent for publication is required for case reports.
- Animal studies: Must comply with ARRIVE guidelines and institutional animal ethics committee approval.
- Conflicts of interest: All authors must disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest.
- Plagiarism: Manuscripts are screened using iThenticate. A similarity index above 19% (excluding references) will result in rejection without review.
- AI tools: Authors must disclose any use of AI writing tools. AI cannot be listed as an author.
