Aims & Scope
The M. Islam Medical and Dental College Journal (MIMDCJ) is a peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal dedicated to advancing knowledge across the medical and allied health sciences. Published annually by the M. Islam Medical and Dental College, Gujranwala, Pakistan, the journal serves as a platform for high-quality scholarly communication.
MIMDCJ publishes original research articles, systematic reviews and meta-analyses, case reports, short communications, letters to the editor, and editorial perspectives. The journal welcomes submissions from clinicians, researchers, and academicians working in any area of biomedicine, public health, dentistry, nursing, pharmacy, and allied health disciplines.
Peer Review Policy
All manuscripts submitted to MIMDCJ undergo rigorous double-blind peer review, where the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed throughout the review process. Manuscripts are evaluated by a minimum of two independent expert reviewers. The editorial board makes final decisions based on reviewer recommendations and the scientific merit of the work.
The typical review timeline is 4–8 weeks from submission to initial decision. Authors can track the status of their manuscripts through the online submission portal.
Open Access Policy
MIMDCJ is a fully open-access journal. All published content is freely available online immediately upon publication, with no subscription or pay-per-view fees. Authors retain copyright under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license, which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited.
There are no article processing charges (APCs) — submission, review, and publication are entirely free for authors.
Publication Ethics
MIMDCJ adheres to the highest standards of publication ethics and follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Authors are responsible for ensuring that their submissions comply with ethical standards, including obtaining necessary approvals from institutional review boards (IRBs), disclosing conflicts of interest, and accurately attributing authorship.
